Megan Roberts joined the Macrophage biology group in 2023 as a PhD student after completing her Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Class IA Hons) in 2022 at QIMRB. Megan completed her Honours year under the supervision of Associate Professor David Frazer in the Molecular nutrition group. Her Honours thesis focused on iron uptake in erythrocytes. After finishing her Honours, Megan began her PhD investigating erythroblastic island macrophages and the transport of iron to erythroblasts. This project involves both rat and mouse models and combines her interests in erythrocytes and iron with macrophages and the innate immune system.
